On January 27th, 2025, a fire started at around 12:30 pm at East 91st St. It was a 3alarm fire that generated distress to buildings surrounding it, spreading alarmingly fast and causing immense traffic surrounding the area. Areas around the fire were flooded with the scent of smoke, including our school. However, by the time we got out of school, the smell wasn’t very strong anymore. Reports say that about 20 apartments were affected by the fire out of the 125 in the building. Thankfully, there were no injuries to any residents besides a minor injury to a firefighter who was quickly examined. The fire was advancing quickly throughout the walls, which spread from the third floor up to the roof. The 150 firefighters put out the fire at 2:30 pm
