Trevor Futsal Charity Classic 2025

This past November, Trevor hosted the fourth annual Trevor Futsal Charity Classic. Started by Zoe S. ‘24 in 2021, the Charity Classic and its organizational responsibilities were handed down to Girls’ Varsity Soccer (GVS) captain Dalia P. ‘26. Trevor hosted Calhoun, LREI, UNIS, and Loyola in the third-floor gym, where each team played two games and a championship game for the teams with the best records. This year, Trevor GVS took home the first-place trophy.

The Trevor Futsal Charity Classic is more than just a friendly soccer competition. Each year, Trevor partners with a charity to which the proceeds are donated. This year, Trevor partnered with Soccer Unbounded for the second year in a row. Soccer Unbounded is a charity started by Trevor GVS alum Lilyann S. ‘25. Soccer Unbounded works to send soccer gear to children in need worldwide. The charity aims to give children around the world the opportunity to play soccer.

Dalia began planning the Charity Classic well in advance. She reached out to coaches at different schools and reviewed the Trevor calendar to decide a date that not only works for GVS, but Trevor as a whole, as gym space can be limited during the start of the winter season.

Although there were some ups and downs in the process, such as figuring out the most efficient way for people to donate and getting the correct equipment, Dalia said that “the point of the tournament is to use a shared love of sports and soccer to make a difference beyond the fields and community of Trevor.”
